My favorite album released this week is a 14-track record—plus four bonus edits—from the West London four-piece known as The Vaccines.
The Vaccines, “English Graffiti”
English indie rock
An obvious diversion from their typical garage sound, English Graffiti is The Vaccines’ third album.
There are so many different sounds in this album, every song is a new experience. Overall, it’s very energetic with loads of great ’80s tones and ’70s melodies. It’s easy to pick up on similarities to The Strokes, Miike Snow, The Beach Boys, and The Flaming Lips—to name a few. That is not to say The Vaccines are not unique; in reality, I don’t know that I’ve ever listened to a record quite like this. This album gets more fun with each listen.
